It’s That Time Of Year, Again: National Poetry Month 2016

April is National Poetry Month!

It’s been a while since I last attempted a poetry challenge.

This year, I’ll be writing a poem a day. Each piece will be part of a broader series I am currently working on, called suck myself out the heart i give it back.

But first: a tiny poetry book

To kick off #NPM16, I’d like to introduce Epiphonia:

Epiphonia is a tiny miniature book I handmade. It’s made up of a single poem, written by yours truly. It’s told in the form of an Official Bureaucratic Love Letter sent directly to YOU from the Governing Bodies of the Universe 👽

You can read about Epiphonia, or go straight to the shop to purchase a physical copy. There’s also a free e-book you can read and download.

Donations for Tupelo Press

For this year’s #NPM16, I’ll be writing an original poem a day on behalf of Tupelo Press. Myself and eight other poets will be creating poetry each day for Tupelo’s fundraising marathon, also known as the 30/30 Project.

As an independent literary press, Tupelo is in need of your donations. Please consider donating as a show of admiration and support for poetry, writing, and art. I’m merely volunteering to help bring awareness to a great literary press and staff; 100% of the funds go directly to Tupelo Press.

Are you ready to write a Poem A Day?

Besides my own work, I’ll be sharing other poems on the Typewriter Poetry Facebook and Instagram (@typewriterpoetry). Send me a message if you’d like to share your own typewriter poetry.

Keep in touch!

Since I got back to Los Angeles from the forests of Sweden, I’ve been maniacally focused on building a body of art through poetry, handmade books, and paintings. You could say I had one of those famous Turning Points they keep talking about, or maybe more accurately a Big Life Epiphany. I’m just happy to be working on projects, again. I feel much lighter, being able to put #FreePoetry to its much deserved rest.

There’s a lot to do and a lot more to come. Life has been busy but full of this commitment to artistic process. Here’s to you being a part of it!

With Love,
