There’s a news story that comes to my mind every so often. Joseph Gibbons, a former MIT professor, robbed a bank under the pretext of desperation and art. Recording it all with a video camera, he claims his criminal behavior was inspired by the poet Arthur Rimbaud. Rimbaud believed “a poet had to descend into the depths of all that was bad and report back.”
If you’re interested in the context of this masterpiece, Gibbons explains that all of his actions have been part of “one long project about discovering the disenfranchised portions of society.”
I created these memes to laugh at when I’m getting sad about art. I remixed Rimbaud with Gibbons’ photograph and a little bit of my own wordplay. Below are my favorites. Enjoy 🙂
I love this what a great idea ,now that being said I’m sure there could be other ways to debunk society never ending ways, but like I said…….
Hehehe! He’s onto something!
